Monday, Day 1
We woke up somewhere in southern Maine and headed to Cracker Barrel for breakfast (the mandatory dining place on vacations!). Started off the day by visiting a Shaker Village by Sabbathday Lake. Was not at all what I expected it to be. Only thing I got out of it was that people who belong to this community are not allowed to marry or have kids. So how do they continue for more than one generation? I'll never know.
We ventured on a 4ish hour drive up to Bar Harbor via Route 1. Stopped at an adorable little village along the way and grabbed lunch. Then found a park with some mini hikes by the ocean. It's been tradition between my aunt and I to take a picture of our feet in water while on vacation. I took my shoe off i preparation and it decided it would rather be IN the water. What a great way to start the week off....
